MAX

MAX

SPECIAL NEEDS CAT

Max is a stunning blue-point Himalayan cat with piercing blue eyes who is preparing to celebrate his 15th birthday. He currently weighs approximately 14 lbs. He was adopted from StreetCats in 2013, but his elderly owner passed away, and he was returned to us. He has only lived with an older woman and has never been around other cats, children, or dogs. Max is diabetic and currently takes the oral medication Bexacat once a day. He also takes metronidazole as needed for diarrhea and follows a special diet. Though getting old is tough, Max is not one to complain. He loves to nap in a warm cubby and occasionally walks the halls to check on his other roommates. He enjoys being petted but doesn't seek excessive attention (he will unambiguously let you know when he's had enough). Max has been on hold at Streetcats for a few months while we have gotten his medical issues diagnosed and stabilized. We now feel that it is time to give this loveable senior citizen a second chance at a forever home with a special someone who can keep him healthy and happy.

CHLOE

CHLOE

Chloe was rescued as a young kitten and has been an indoor cat ever since. The original family that rescued her could no longer care for her. She has lived with two children, four dogs, and two adults. Chloe is sweet, loving, playful, and outgoing. She loves human attention. She would do best as an only cat in a home with human companionship most of the day, as she does not like being alone.

RACHEL

RACHEL

Rachel is a three-year-old dilute tortoiseshell who lived indoors until her owner suddenly passed away. She was put outside to fend for herself for a year, but a kind neighbor kept an eye on her and made sure she never went hungry. She has been in foster care for three months. Rachel loves her foster dad, but she is very shy around strangers. She likes to play with toys and enjoys being brushed. If you are looking for a sweet cat who will truly appreciate a soft bed, a full bowl, and a loving heart, Rachel is ready to come home. Rachel has lived with other cats in the past, but has not been around dogs or small children. She would probably do best in a quiet home with adults.

TRUST - ADOPTION PENDING

TRUST - ADOPTION PENDING

Trust is a 15-month-old blue tabby who was abandoned and found eking out an existence in the crawl space under a commercial building. She was cared for by a StreetCat volunteer, who decided she was friendly enough to foster indoors for several months until she could come into StreetCats.  Trust in an affectionate lap cat who is shy at first but warms up quickly. She loves to play; handleless paper sacks and kitty tunnels are of particular interest to her. She also likes treats and food in general. Trust has not been around other cats or dogs, but would probably be fine with children.

BENNIE

BENNIE

Bennie is a one-year-old brown-and-white tabby who appeared at a residence hungry and scared, wanting to be let in. He is a big boy at 15 pounds, very sweet, and loves to play. He warms up to people quickly, but is afraid of storms, garage doors, cars, and loud noises. Bennie has not been around other cats or dogs, but would probably be fine with children.

SHOP CAT; NOT FOR ADOPTION

She is very sweet and friendly, but other cats seem to make her nervous.  She prefers Purina EN dry food and likes creamy seafood wet food.  Adopted 8/2021 and returned 9/2022 due to peeing outside of litter box but she wasn’t on medicine consistently.  Owner loved her but decided to return her.  She uses a “regular” litter box that has clay litter in it, but she occasionally will pee on a puppy pad.  She is on Fluoxetine to reduce stress and hopefully keep her from peeing in places other than the litter box.  Fluoxetine is a gel that goes on the hairless area of an ear flap – switch ear flaps daily.  This medication is in a transdermal gel applicator and is easy to give.  The cost of this medicine is $75.34 for three pens on an auto ship for every 12 weeks.  This medicine does have to be set up by her vet and Feline Specialties does this for her now.  She would love to have a home of her own as the only pet in the home.
